Sonas has been very open to the idea of coming in aid to immigrants. Sonas has been welcoming immigrants to come through its borders. They have though put a maximum number; four million. The government supported this decision with arguments of there being assumptions of crime increasing because of immigrants. This could drive some of the original population of Sonas away, which would be bad for its economy and reputation. Another argument being that most immigrants cannot afford life and government then must pay for them. Sonas has no fear of the religions being mixed, as the country already has it. The government have taken charge of building camps where the immigrants can wait for visas. There is clean water, food, clothes etc. provided by the government.
Sonas’ population has roughly 15% of expats, 3% of immigrants, 40% are just citizens from other countries and the rest are citizens with the Sonas nationality. There is a huge amount of expats in Sonas, as its economy is very successful, and so is Sonas on the Social Progress Index. Thus, Sonas is very good for expat families with children. The 40% of citizens from other countries are mostly from Turkey, Bulgaria, Serbia and Italy, as they are the largest neighboring countries of Sonas. In Sonas, health, education and public facilities are all provided by the government. There is free education and healthcare to citizens with the Sonas nationality. This includes hospital bills smaller than 2,000 Ostins. |
