As Sonas tries to be an environmental country, public transport is easily accessible for everyone and vehicles such as cars are quite expensive. Sonas has MRT, trains, buses and taxis as public transport. MRT stations are at almost every two kilometers, and bus stops at approximately every four kilometers. The MRT lines are divided in a way that there are maximum four MRT lines in each major city. The MRT is about twenty Ostin cents per station with and addition of one Ostin when boarding. During peak hours (six to nine am, six to eight pm), the price is thirty Ostin cents per station and two Ostins at boarding instead of one.
To get around the entire country, there is a rapid train which passes by every major city, it takes a maximum of four hours to get to one end of Sonas to the other end. The train prices vary in price depending on the distance. The price don’t change depending on peak hours, but they do increase during big holidays such as Christmas, Easter, Summer etc. |
Bus stops are at approximately every kilometer in major cities and like the MRT, each lines are divided by cities. Buses are the cheapest form of transportation, costing only ten Ostin cents per stop with a boarding price of fifty Ostin cents, when using a card. With coins or cash, it costs ten more cents per stop.
Finally, taxis are quite expensive so to motivate people to use more environmental public transports. Taxis have a boarding cost of four Ostins, and cost fifty cents per kilometer. Again, during peak hours, prices are more expensive. The peak hours are the same as with the MRT and the price goes up by sixty cents per kilometer. This is because there is more traffic during peak hours, and if the price would be the same as the original, taxis would make less money. As transport is quite inexpensive, and private vehicles have become more expensive, in the big cities of Sonas, the average amount of all big cities transport usage has been quite positive. As it can be seen on the graph, public transport is the transport mostly used in the urban cities. |
